Why Mums Don’t Jump: Our Stories, Our Health
Exhibition and Workshop
A creative cake workshop and afternoon tea with Helen Ledwick, the author, podcaster and creator of Why Mums Don't Jump. This exhibition and workshop involved enjoying afternoon tea and conversations around pelvic health. Participants were provided cake and materials to decorate their own vulva cake! The event was part of a week-long exhibition that brought the community together sharing stories on a subject that affects 1 in 3 women, but no-one ever talks about: pelvic floor problems like incontinence, prolapse and pelvic pain. Inspired by Ledwick's stigma-smashing podcast Why Mums Don’t Jump, animation students at Falmouth University created a landmark animated film that depicts - for the first time - the experience of pelvic organ prolapse after childbirth. To celebrate this groundbreaking work the exhibition showcased the behind the scenes and invited visitors to join in the discussion with Helen over a cup of tea - an opportunity to move these private experiences of despair to shared public joy!
